Anyone else see the 2 page IBM ad strictly about Java?
In this week's Barron's. Very interesting. Mentions SUNW & supports its 100% Pure Java standard (backhand slap or a forehand smash down the baseline against microsoft?)

Neither am I; the thread itself contained as many strong arguments against as for. Still, I haven't been able to convice myself one way or another whether "biggest" was meant to modify "partner" or "announcement".

I found another clue/non-clue (take your pick) in looking at Sun's list of events for January. The only thing listed for this week is the annual convention of the National Retail Federation. Sun will be participating in a session on the JavaPOS standard. On January 27, the topic of the next Sunnergy broadcast will be electronic commerce; specific topics appear to include retail banking and China. Also, on January 28, Sun will begin a series of free one-day E-Commerce seminars in conjunction with 3Com. The road show will extend through April 30. Interestingly, 3Com's website doesn't mention Sun's participation. The registration website isn't responding right now, so I can't find more information. Finally, I note that Comnet is next week (starting 1/27) in Washington, DC.

Whatever...
