>>But what the heck does IOM got to do with the Internet??!<<

Actually that recommendation itself nullifies his credibility/knowledge about Internet, although rest of the talk did make sense.
The copper cable used to connect the computer to internet has more to do with the internet than IOM.

But what the heck does IOM got to do with the Internet??!

Who said there're no connections between IOM and the internet. Just consider that with the furtile amount of beautiful and eye-popping pictures/movies available on the internet, users cannot resist the temptation to download and store everything on their hard drive. Sooner or later, net surfers will need more data storage space. Removable media is the only way to go with its unlimited data storage capability.

For the same reason (increasing popularity of internet), I will buy corrective lens companies with all the money I can afford. Lately, I found that my vision starts deteriorating as I am spending increasing amount of time staring at my computer screen. Just read my lips and buy before others see this subtle linkage!

Investor-ex!,

I couln't agree with you more about Dines stock picks being strange bedfellows. He likes metals and the internet (IOM?). I don't don't agree with his AOL pick though. Can't see AOL above these levels. Mass pshycology has run it's course and his pick is late.

Once people get out and experience the internet without AOL, you'll never go back. Granted it's a bit of a learning curve but once cable modem service is the norm, AOL will suffer. Got my cable modem as soon as MediaOne gobbled up my local cable provider. I logged on to AOL with a TCP/IP connect and what do you know? No better speed than with the ole' 33.6 US Robotics.

Cable modems rule.
