Yes, have looked at SPHD, but doesn't really fit my wants and needs, in spite of a healthy yield. I know a lot of people like it, but it has a number of things I don't care for:

  • Too high expense ratio
  • Not of sufficient quality for me
  • If distributions fall in any year (2017), that's a big strike against any ETF for me
  • It simply does not make sense tax-wise for me to invest in anything that does not produce 100% qualified dividends (Avoiding the double negative, it only make sense to receive 100% qualified dividends)

Not arguing it may not be a good investment, just that it doesn't fit my needs. Not sure if I will ever move into any ETF unless/until I get to the point where I cannot handle individual securities, but thanks for the suggestion.
