I found out why my download time was approaching infinity. ProTA 4 has a UTI window (cmd-u) that will import text files. eoddata data is all text files in exchange specific folders. Like NYSE has ticker symbols and price data for all the New York Stock Exchange listed symbols in text files. OTCBB has ticker symbols and price data for all Over the Counter listed symbols. I made the mistake of dragging OTCBB to the UTI window, and ProTA 4 created quote files for all one billion Over the Counter stocks in my ProTA 4 ticker picker. If you do this, you have to select New Symbols: Skip and not Auto Create; otherwise, you will have one huge ticker picker data base. Of course if you want to have quote files for all one billion Over the Counter stocks go for it. You will pay the price in download time.
