To all: I strongly urge anyone who received their proxy statement to vote to withold the nominations for board of diectors, and vote no on proposals #2-4. The issuance of additional shares would be extremely dilutive. It's like APM is saying, "Yeah, we screwed you shareholders, but would you mind bending over just a few more times?"
It would be nice if Crisman et al were actually forced to realize that they are accountable to the shareholders.

Also, per the annual report, Crisman received a 9.8% raise for his 1997 performance. Feels like a sharp stick in the eye. Ow! Dana

Yes, thanks. I'm trying to batter my way through learning
in this segment. What I can't convince myself of, no matter
how hard I argue, is that any independent DD maker would
put themselves in the position of going to IBM or Seagate
except in special situations with limited futures. (Here
I am in the board room of WDC convincing my cohorts that
we should put the family jewels in SEG's hands ... nah.)

So, pursuing this thought further, there will come a turn
in the market and the head suppliers will be in GREAT
demand again, or I won't have disks for my insatiable
byte-hunger (I'm representing to myself the entire
consumer world from high-end enterprise to home user
in my introspective interrogation room).

The upshot is, I think (FWIW) there will come in the not-too-
far-off future a big turnaround in demand for disks and,
it follows, for heads, with a very limited number of
suppliers. So I want to get my money back, and I'm
asking myself how to do it.

Thanks again to all who responded for the help.

Regards,

Spots
