Is cultural appropriation on the same level as blackface? Of course, neither is good - this is like the contemporary millennial game of "Would you rather die doing X or Y....?" !! Before the registration as a Native American came out - I just heard that a few days ago - she self-debunked that with a DNA test. Other than her credibility who was really harmed? Blackface at a party is public, denigrates a minority, and is about an entire group of "someone else". Lying about one's cultural make-up is fraudulent, but personal. However, neither of these are in the here and now - we have a possible Russian agent in the Oval Office who is CURRENTLY suggesting there is no way the opposition could win in 2020 except by FRAUD. This was my worst case scenario. We need to get some perspective - ask for some public apologies and sensitivity sessions and save what's left of our country!!
