Jim,

Remeber, I was being conservative.. apparently from an unnamed source the .25 samples came out with very good clock speeds and a core voltage (on the desktop) of 2.1v. Apparently the .25 micron cpus are in the 266-300mhz range.. but don't quote me.. remember this is just an UNCONFIRMED rumour.

However, if you we got a MX at 300 mhz (100x3) it should be the performance equivalent of a PII at 450 on the 66MHZ bus.. or should at least be competitive wiht a PII 350 on a 100MHZ bus..

This important thing to remember is that NSM (since they decided to dump the PR ratings) is doing everything in their power to raise the clock speeds ASAP..

Steve

Jim,
Re -- 266MHZ M@ would have a PRII rating

Didn't you say that Mhz sells, and that NSM would soon drop the PRcrap? You guys keep bringing it up again. The PRrating has been a failure.

AMD used the PR when it suited its purpose, but once they got the real thing and the real performace they dropped it.

Cyrix still is using the PR, they should learn from AMD how to design a CPU. Jeez!!
