Re: NWL

I am in for two Buys today. One at $18.60 and another at $17.65/share. EPS were adjusted to $1.55-$1.65 for 2019 vs $1.99/share. Management still in major restructure updating their product portfolio, installing new inventory & logistics system all takes time maybe another year. Goal is to increase margins. They are up but only to 11.5% vs 10.5%. New GN calculation based on updated earnings is $21.50/share.

Also some adds last week in UNFI. UNFI made new recovery high to $15.15/share. GN on this one is $37/share so still has a ways to go.

Another Buy for NWL @ $17.11/share. That's a 5.3% div yield. Next Buy level at/near $16.15/share.

I have some higher cost shares that I can sell once this starts to move higher and/or w/ EPS upgrades. Still only at a 60% portfolio position which allows for more Buys.

Graham liked to BUY his position at one time rather than over several months. I do not agree w/ this but like to find a candidate GN play, see what the strategy is for recovery by management, try to estimate how long this will get done and then accumulate a portfolio position in 3-5 months. Expectations are that it will take 18 months to do the fix and show in their quarterly report.

It is difficult to time the low and any little hick-up in the recovery plan can cause a lot of selling (like today in NWL).

Look how UNFI sold down and I did several Buys over the three days after earnings. All but one of those trades are profitable except one and the GN valuation is still at $37/share.

Also been accumulating a position in GOLD w/ a 2% dividend and a good hedge against the $US and our $22 Trillion debt.
