What caliber handgun did the police officer have? I think probably 9mm. I believe 40 cal to be most optimal for police forces as they are more deadly, but can still employ larger volume magazines. Federal officers long ago adopted the 40 cal for more stopping power after a failed shoot involving the FBI in Florida. My favorite is the subcompact Heckler & Koch P2000sk 40 cal due to it's lower profile for none uniformed officers and agents.
