I'm reading a book about Samuel de Champlain when he grew up in southern france the area was rich because of all the salt that they harvested from the marshes around them. the salt got there during the roman warming period when the oceans went 5 kilometers inland, when the planet cooled the ocean receded and left the salt. the climate is always changing and civilization advances during warming periods

There are Trillions at Stake…
Posted on February 16, 2019by sundance
There’s a lot of news this week reflecting a great deal of oppositional alignment against the presidency of Donald Trump. CTH can get down in the weeds of each specific issue to discuss the motives and intents (we will, and do), but the big picture MUST remain at the forefront of understanding. If we lose track of the big picture, the weeds are overwhelming.

…“It must be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage than a new system. For the initiator has the enmity of all who would profit by the preservation of the old institution and merely lukewarm defenders in those who gain by the new ones.”

~ Niccolò Machiavelli

?POTUS Trump is disrupting the global order of things in order to protect and preserve the shrinking interests of the U.S. middle-class. He is fighting, almost single-handed, at the threshold of the abyss. Our interests, our position, is zero-sum; if POTUS Trump fails, there will never be another available route to confront the Big Club.

President Trump’s aggregate opposition seeks to repel and retain the status-quo. They were on the cusp of full economic control over the U.S. just before candidate Trump snatched away their victory. There are trillions at stake. They won’t make that mistake again.

When it comes to "MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING" just 'follow the money' ....

Think of all those giant Wind Mills and their wind-powered generators than we see in offshore locations and spread around many countrysides ....

And those massive spreads of solar powered arrays taking up hundreds of acres of space ....

Etc, etc, etc, ..... AND, it's not just the original supply of these items, it's also the ongoing maintenance and spare parts businesses that goes with it and all those PATENTS giving a small number of companies EXCLUSIVE SUPPLY CONTRACTS .....

And then, of course, we see the Anti-Nuclear Power lobby who don't want clean, safe power because it's "Risky" and "Dangerous" and, and, and .....

BUT a country such as FRANCE, for heaven's sake, got OVER 70% OF ITS GENERATED POWER FROM ITS OWN DESIGNED AND BUILT NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS !!! .... AND they've not had ONE NUCLEAR ACCIDENT ....

A sample of some of the larger French reactors ....

Nuclear Reactor size can go up to in excess of 8000 MW ......

So if we assume the average size of an above average Nuclear Powered plant is about 3000 MW and the average output of a wind powered generator is about 10 MW, seeing as the world's largest will be 12 MW ...

..... that means that ONE average sized Nuclear Power station can provide as much electricity as 300 large Wind Turbines !! AND, it can provide that electricity 24/7/365 which a Wind Turbine cannot do ....

So in that above list of only 17 French Nuclear plants we see about 23,000 MW of power. That's the equivalent of 23000/10 = 2300 Wind powered generators which can't be relied on 100% of the time !!!

The way I see it, the Base Load of a 1st World Industrial Country should come from Nuclear Power. To that can be added Wind, Solar, Wave, Tidal generated power. But to do away, completely, with Nuclear Power, as Germany has done, is, IMO, stupid and short sighted ......
