Well, they're shaking down Bezos. Trump's tweet today will just motivate him to fight it forever.

Sam,

This is a junk lawsuit. They are singling out the Post while many other papers and TV stations covered this incident extensively. This family will either rack up a lot of legal bills or the firm that is doing it will (they are probably doing it for a percentage of whatever they think that they can shakedown the Post for).

Covington Catholic student’s family hits the Washington Post with $250 million lawsuit
They say it’s not political

If this is worth a quarter of a billion dollars, think of what Sandy Hook relatives should be suing Fox News and conservative media for. Especially since they were really harmed and maligned.

To Bezos this is nothing more than a minor nuisance of a lawsuit. He could throw money at this lawsuit until the teenager is in his 30's or older and not even feel a sting.

On the other hand, I really doubt that the kid's parents can spend money like that trying to win this frivolous suit.

Whoever the law firm is that is representing this kid will most likely be doing it for a percentage of the award. But they are also going to want one hell of a retainer just because of who they are suing and the likelihood that may never recover a settlement.

Not to mention how the SCROTUS steps in and makes his prejudicial Tweets.

He shouldn't settle - drag it out and name the Dumpfster as a party since he felt he should step in. Take it to the Supreme Court if necessary. There are probably Constitutional issues with claiming exemption from statements offered in bad faith.
