Okay, MSB, so you are talking about a border mostly of black around the piece, with peach squares or 'jewels' as the stained glass artists call them? I really like designing borders, because you can repeat some of the disparate elements in your work, and tie the whole thing together.

I have never quite understood what shadow boxes were, although I have certainly heard of them. Weren't they very popular in Victorian times?

In art--and craft at the level that it is sold in galleries--the reputation of the artist is very important. Obviously, at $1,000 plus these little stick totems must be very collectible and expected to increase in value. Do you watch Antiques Roadshow on PBS? I just love that show, and incidentally if you do also, the new season, with all new shows, starts tonight on PBS.
