This article today might be an indication of how Borland will be spending it's marketing budget:

www3.zdnet.com

I think it's the way software companies that have to deal with shrinking margins are going to evolve, and Borland's hardly the only company that has to deal with this, but I'm not sure what that means for me being able to get a Borland product at, say, CompUSA. If their studies show that selling software in such a retail setting is not profitable or practical, I've no problem with that, but don't software publishers already deal with companies like Ingram that act as middlemen? I guess I don't understand how FrontLine Now fits with companies like Ingram.

In any case, if Borland feels this will lead to better support for the corporate user, I'm all for that, since that's the audience they're after.

Regards,
Dave
