Aponet, Inc. Announces Strategic Partnership with CJK of Tokyo Japan; CJK To Distribute Entire Line of Aponet Bandwidth Management Products

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/-- Aponet, Inc., a leading provider of network traffic and bandwidth management tools today announced a major distribution agreement with Chiyoda Joho Kiki Kabushiki-kaisha (CJK Co., Ltd) of Tokyo Japan to distribute the Aponet family of products in Japan.

CJK, a $100 million VAR and Systems Integrator headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has been selected as the reseller for Aponet's products throughout Japan. CJK, founded in 1972, is a government certified Systems Integrator. The company currently distributes products from other American companies such as ASCEND, LANNET, Acacia and RND. It specializes in network, security and related computer products and will focus on the Internet Service Provider (ISP) market.

''After evaluating a number of bandwidth management products on the market today, we chose the Aponet line based on the quality, ease of use and wide range of features,'' stated Takao Sugai, president of CJK. ''In our view, Aponet's products offer better performance, more flexibility and provide new business opportunities for our ISP customers.''

CJK views the market scope as a continuously expanding area. Currently, there are over 2300 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Japan, an increase of 50% over last year. With a huge demand for bandwidth among ISPs and their subscribers it is apparent there is a serious need to control IP traffic and report on real-time usage.

''We are very pleased to welcome CJK to the Aponet team,'' commented Raymond Hou, president of Aponet. ''Their knowledge of the ISP market in Japan and the consulting and maintenance services they offer are paramount to our penetration of the growing Japanese market.''

CJK will provide ''first-line of contact'' support for the Aponet products which include the Aponet Bandwidth Manager and the Aponet Policy Monitor as well as the Smart Scheduler recently announced in December 1997. Localization of products will be handled by Aponet. Co-marketing efforts will include joint participation in trade shows, private seminars and advertising.

Headquartered in San Jose, CA, Aponet Inc. is a technology leader in providing network traffic/bandwidth management tools and related management solutions to Internet Service Providers and corporate Intranet network managers.
