Hi miss penni, I guess my wife kept smoking around my son because her addiction was stronger than her maternal instinct. At one point, when he was about 6, I got him an Atari computer, which we set up in his room. She quickly became addicted to the pac-man game, and would spend hours playing it in that small room, while lighting up one after another. After asking many times for her not to do it, without results, I finally decided to ban cigarettes from the house. We almost divorced over it. He has moved out on his own now, but she still smokes outside in the patio room, conceding that it is the right thing to do.
