More,

Gross margin can approach goal of 56% by 1999.

As said before, flat q1 projection, but they said umpteen times that this is conservative. But they need to set a budget.

Pushouts from last week of dec already resolved.

3 congratulatory comments from the analysts.

Absolutely NO cancellations.

300 mm pushed out to 99, like everyone knows.

Varian acquisition going better than expected, but not additive for q.

Europe is very strong.

For year asia was 25%, but HIGHER in the 4 q.

Cautiously optimistic in short run, very optimistic in long run.

Banner year if not for asia.

Capital expenditure announcements from intc, amd, mot are all greater than expected.

Goal is 15% sales growth and they expect to achieve it, and exceed it if industry growth picks up.

Gone over backlog with fine tooth comb, they believe it is firm.Have adjusted out uncertainties.

Won't give asia breakdown by country

40% of backlog is asia and japan

didn't buy back shares

some cu shiped to manufacturing

R&d as % of sales could go up

Pricing pressures aren't much of a factor.

Cap exp was 60 mill, guess 70 m this year

dram bus is 30%
