"this planet is resilient" It does what your body does; when there's an infection, it runs a fever hot enuf to kill the harmful agent. "These idiots claiming we have 11 years to "solve these problems" are con-men. " Just idiots. They need to start saying that we have 12 years to reduce carbon emissions by 50% in order to keep the temperature increase below 1.5 degrees.

The numbers just don't support the hysteria. People live on land that covers only 29 percent of the earth's surface. And only a small percentage of that land uses fossil fuel or anything else the nuts claim is destroying the planet. The United States itself makes up less than 2 percent of the earth's surface. It is impossible for people in the U.S. to control the global climate, for good or bad.

This is a very 'small' system when you look from outside: Global warming is a "global" phenomenon. Also, averaged over the year, it is a permanent one. When the heat/energy enters this small system, and less heat/energy leaves, then this system will get hotter. The problem is, it will lead to the positive feedback: Warmer globe => more heat trapping (greenhouse) gasses => less heat escapes the earth => even hotter globe => even more greenhouse gasses => ... When the Icecaps melt, when Permafrost melts, we are done. Runaway climate change, you better think Venus.
