Agreed. The liberals and neocons have already destroyed the Bill of Rights...made it basically toothless. Our Constitution is being shredded at an alarming rate. I believe in strong gun controls, but I fundamentally believe in the 2nd amendment for the same reasons you do, except I'd word it another way. Who really cares whether our government trusts the citizens or not. It's not for the government to decide that. It's for the CITIZENS to NOT trust our government, ever. That is why the Constitution was written the way it was, as a constraint on the power of government in order to protect citizens' rights. The government and the socialists are now in a very concerted effort to strip away all of our rights and freedoms. It's truly alarming.
