True. That's the sort of thing that I don't like either. Posts that are simply insults and full of invective have no real purpose, but they do make threads more colorful. My preferred way of handling stuff like that is for me to put them on my own personal Ignore list. You'll notice that I still have not Ignored Sylvester, because I have a pretty high tolerance for debate and expressions of opinion, even when I don't like those opinions. I don't really like Bans, because that goes against freedom of speech, even speech I find useless. So my main intent in asking to be moderator was really to keep the thread wide open. I trust myself to do that, but I don't trust ANY of the liberals of today to do that. They have already demonstrated that they will censor conservative speech. We've seen bentway do that on the Trump thread and on other SI threads. We've seen it all over Twitter, Google, Facebook, and everywhere else. I'd like to keep this thread the one place where all comers can have their say. If I don't like what they are saying, then I'll Ignore them. If someone is getting so crazy that it offends everyone on the thread, then usually SI steps in on those anyway. That's just my take on things. But your idea of a vote on truly outrageous posters is also not a bad idea, though it would have to be a very last resort. Again, maybe I just opened a can of worms with this whole thing. Try to do some good and then I wonder if it does more harm than good. :)
