Libya was a horrible idea. Arguably, the single most absurd military campaign in our history, with still under appreciated negative consequences. It's bad when people are given to dreaming up big stupid ideas - and have the power to make them reality. That's why we need checks and balances.

Libya under Khadaffi had nuclear ambitions and pursued a program to develop nuclear weapons, but Libya never actually got there. It’s inaccurate to say Khadaffi surrendered “all his nukes.”
