Cleaning a pasta machine: howzabout spraying it from stem to stern with oven cleaner? That oughtta melt even the worst dried dough. Then rinse. Unless there are wood or aluminum parts. Oven cleaner is quick death on aluminum! It's actually pretty entertaining to watch.

I have always attributed it to the things we did when we were young. I was a slug in my youth, totally afraid to play any sort of contact sports and did everything physical in a very cautious and now seem to be able to do anything without abandon. I started running at the ripe age of 34 having never done any form of sport. I run regularly, never stretch and have only once had a minor injury. My husband on the other hand, has always played every sport to the maximum, including hockey which really did him in, now is unable to run as either his knees hurt or his ankles. They always told us that it was the cracking of knuckles that caused arthritis. Did you used to crack your knuckles?
