Then after the war, most nationalized industries went back to the people and capitalism thrived in spades in the 50s and 60s. The more we deregulated, the more the economy took off. It was a beautiful thing. Now we're moving in reverse and the worse it gets, the more socialism we try, which makes it even worse. It's the downward spiral that we now seem stuck into. The Federal Reserve is part of it. They are so stuck on communism now, they intervene every time the stock market has a hiccup, which means they never normalize monetary policy. The US economy is now a fiscal and monetary stimulus heroin addict. Socialism will be the Final Solution, meaning it will destroy what is left of a once vibrant economy. None of it will end well.
