As I said in a previous post, I don't like cults of personality and I don't like dynasties, because that allows a very popular President to arrogate to him/herself an enormous amount of power that erodes the freedom of the people. George Washington himself set the term limit precedent precisely so he would be a lasting example against the idea of an imperial Presidency. The timeless beauty of the US is enshrined in our Constitution, which was created as a RESTRAINT on government, giving it only the power expressly written into the Constitution by the people. I believe first and foremost in the freedom of speech and the bill of rights. Without these, almost every other freedom is bound to be lost. If any of you have seen my other posts, then you know I am frankly alarmed at the loss of freedom of speech in this country and the social media and MSM silencing of conservative speech. It is our Constitution that guarantees free speech. Our President's job is primarily to execute the laws on the books and to safeguard our Constitution. I don't like Presidents who seek to destroy the Constitution. We've had too many libtards recently taking aim and deliberately dismantling our freedoms. Trump is immensely popular among his constituency. Believe me, I cast my vote for him, and later, I stayed up all night praying he would win and save us from the evil that is Hillary. I was overcome with joy and called all my friends to wake them up and talk about it. So I understand the temptation to vest so much of yourself into one man. But as much as we all like Trump and what he is doing for our causes and our country, let us never forget that it is our Constitution that keeps the lock on Pandora's box. My family knows what happens when you open that box and things like Socialism take over. The box in the US is already open. In many ways, it was Trump who made it clear to everyone that a vote for the Democrats is a vote for Socialism. For that, we should all be thankful. He drew the line for us all very clearly. Let's hope Trump can close Pandora's box and put the lock back on it. As great as this country and our Constitution is, even the US cannot survive Socialism, if we decide to try it here. It will eat everything in its path.
