I got sick of it. I had friends who's kids were killed over there. Half my family was in the military. I was and continue to be sick of war. Where Bush lost me for good was his response to the Financial Crisis. It was basically an extend and pretend policy coupled with ZIRP and QE. He caved to the central bankers, who are basically an unelected politburo at the heart of our capitalism. He intended to let every banker gangster off without holding them accountable, despite all of us old enough to remember knowing we have a real good template for how to handle financial crises, just like we did during the S&L crisis way back when. Then Obama came in talking about uniting the country, getting us out of the Middle East, and energy independence. I grew up in Texas and I knew we could be energy independent on oil alone. So I wanted an all of the above policy to get us there, so we don't have to make deals with the devils as we do with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. We don't need the wastelands of the Middle East. Every soldier and every dollar spent over there is a complete waste. We have plenty of problems to solve right here. So there you have it. Momentary lapse. Biggest voting mistake of my life. Satisfied? And don't get holier than thou. If you decide to ride on your high horse like those elitist SJWs, then let's you and I migrate over to the FAAMD thread and we can see who has the better facility with words, logic, and debate on the issues. I've dealt with worse than you, believe me. BTW, this is why I like Trump. He's a businessman and pragmatist like me. Even his first impulse was to get us the hell out of the Middle East. He lost his SecDef Mattis over his decision to pull out of Syria. I still think Trump made the right call on that. We're $22 trillion in debt and we have a civil war on our hands right here in the US. It's about darned time we shift our focus to fixing things right here at home. So kudos to Trump for at least trying to get us out of there.
