To: GUNSNGOLD who wrote (124266 ) 3/2/2019 6:33:52 PM From: RetiredNow Respond to of 455373 I am mostly focused on economic issues and Bush Jr was racking up a giant debt Okay, but the first term of zero was racking up debt- Why vote for him a second time?I'm not sure who zero is. Can you clarify? I had friends who's kids were killed over there. Half my family was in the military. Don't even try that sanctimonious line with me. You know nothing of me and my 30 yr military career. I have seen what war does and is. So how many Gold Star mothers do you exactly know by name and how many is half your family? So I salute you and respect what you have done for this country. It's people like you that I truly respect. However, that doesn't give you a monopoly on opinions or feelings. Every single person on my mother's side and all my cousins were in the military. My family came from nothing and the military provided on my mother's side. You likely know far more about war than I personally do, but I am allowed my opinion and I think we are wasting our time in the Middle East. We do not need them. Every hour we spend over there creates more problems for us at home. We are energy independent already and we have plenty of problems to solve right here. Eisenhower was right about the Military Industrial Complex. We spend $1 trillion/ year on the MIC, if you include emergency appropriations, and we police the world. Trump is right. It's about damned time the rest of the Western world picks up a share of that tab and we need to wind things up as much as possible. I stand 100% with Trump on these issues. Where Bush lost me for good was his response to the Financial Crisis. It was basically an extend and pretend policy coupled with ZIRP and QE. So if you hated ZIRP and QE so much why vote for Zero a second time? Zero was responsible for ZIRP not bush. Bush was responsible for QE1 but Zero for QE 2&3.Again, I don't know who Zero is. Anyway, I am of the Ron Paul mindset on the Federal Reserve. We need a free floating interest rate and currency and we need to abolish the Fed, which is the tumor at the heart of our capitalism. I've often thought a good bet would be to open an account at the Texas Gold Depository and start preparing for the worst. These idiots are destroying the reserve currency and they'll impoverish this country. He intended to let every banker gangster off without holding them accountable, despite all of us old enough to remember knowing we have a real good template for how to handle financial crises, just like we did during the S&L crisis way back when Finally something you are half-correct on. Yes we had a template from the 80's S&L but the damage didn't happen until late in Bush's term. So Obama in your mind should have been a hero to prosecute all these evil doers, but he didn't for some reason. Things that make you go Hmmm. He didn't, because both parties are complete bought and sold by Wall Street. It's one of the many reasons I am now registered as Unaffiliated and refuse to vote for either Party. I vote for individuals only. The parties are corrupt relics. Then Obama came in talking about uniting the country, getting us out of the Middle East, and energy independence. I grew up in Texas and I knew we could be energy independent on oil alone Where in TX? How did you know we could be energy independent? Shale Fracking didn't come in earnest until after 2008 and Obama energy policy was build on Solar and Wind and wanted to put TX and WVa out of business. In TX through the EPA as it relates to water. So I doubt you know much about Economics as you claim.I grew up in Dallas and worked there for awhile. I had lots of contacts who were in the oil business. I didn't specifically know about fracking, but I was always told by my friends that if we could drill anywhere we wanted around the US and its shores that there would be more than enough oil to be independent. In addition, a lot of people have long known about the potential shale oil up near Canada. It just took the right price levels to begin the exploration in earnest. I'm not an oil man myself, though. I'm just repeating what I remember from the old days. When I was still young, I moved to Silicon Valley and made myself a decades long career in tech. Could be that's where I acquired some liberal ideas and for that I apologize. ;) Satisfied? And don't get holier than thou No I am not satisfied and I am not holier than thou, but you are seriously conflicted if what you said above is true and you vote not only once but twice for zero. Because there was not doubt what Zero was from the get go and if you couldn't see it in the first term, then you have very little credibility now. If zero is Obama, I only voted for him once, at the beginning. Then when his true colors were revealed and I realized what he was, I voted for Romney. As far as my credibility, I don't give two sh_ts what you think. You think I need your approbation? I'm too old for that. If you want to continue to be antagonistic, then let's take it over to the FAAMD thread and we can go round and round with the sewer rats. I promised Honey Bee, I'd keep my posts tame here. So if you want to continue this, let's move it over there. I think people who have inflexibility of thinking have no credibility. It shows lack of imagination and calcification of thought. I see this on both sides of the aisle and it is what is stifling this country. We are too rigid and static to adapt anymore and we have allergic reactions to anyone who does demonstrate adaptability. The old ways of doing things must be broken down and replaced. Trump understands that, especially with the MIC and the alphabet soup of security agencies who have shown their true colors in their coup attempt against Trump. The swamp is the old way and their time has come.
