Not true. I have historically pointed out that if we ever hope to control our deficits then we have to address both our welfare payments (SS, Medicare, and interest on the debt) and the military. All other line items are too small to worry about. I focused on the military issue with you, because you used your veteran status as a bludgeon, instead of using logic. I actually don't have anything against the military and think we should always maintain our strength as one of our key pillars, but not in the form of a bloated and mismanaged bureaucracy that is failing to fight the wars of the future and seems mired in the wars of the past. I want efficiency and more bang for the buck. No, the Constitution is an inflexible document and is the solution. Those who claim to bend with the wind like you are the problem. And yes I have been constant on that stance since about the age of 5. I know that scares the likes of you, because at the end of the day you wrap your self in platitudes, but I wrap my self around The Constitution that doesn't need to change. The FF had 5,000 years of human endeavor as a guide and they created an almost perfect document for self rule. So if it isn't in the Constitution, then it isn't really needed. That is what you should be pointing to but for some reason can't. On that we agree to a 95% extent. But our Founding Fathers would have disagreed with you slightly. They gave us a way to change the Constitution, but they made it appropriately difficult through the Amendment process. Even they were not as rigid as you describe yourself. But there are worse sins than rigidly following the Constitution. I've been pretty much that way my whole life too. It's still the best Constitution in the world, IMHO. Right now, I have not called for any changes in the Constitution, so I'm not sure where you are getting that. P.S. I voted for you in the poll to moderate, because of the recommendation by Tide Glider. However, after reading your last few posts I should have listened to FUBHO. He had you nailed from the start. Shame on you for voting without doing your homework then. It is that rigidity of thought, which is leaving that swamp, the ongoing cess pool that it is. You are a sad relic. If someone doesn't agree with you 100%, then you can't find your way to common ground to form alliances. That is what is wrong with this country. Trump is far more flexible than you are, which is why he is making progress. Everyone wants to be 100% right. No one wants to compromise and move forward on where we are the same. Enough of this now. I think we've said our peace and you've made your assessments, as have I.
