Malaysian youth to grow vegetables to beat
economic crisis

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Young members of the ruling party
will now grow vegetables in an effort to help Malaysia deal with
Asia's economic crisis.

The 708,000 members of the United Malays National
Organization's youth wing will begin planting vegetables this month,
party official Abdul Fatah Abdullah was quoted as saying by the
national Bernama news agency.

The campaign, which aims to save on import bills, is in line with
government appeals for Malaysians to grow their own vegetables to
help deal with the economic crisis that has depreciated the value of
currencies in much of Asia.

The Malaysian ringgit has lost almost half its value in relation to the
dollar since, and Malaysia stands to lose valuable foreign exchange
if it does not reduce its dependence on imported vegetables and
poultry.

Yeah, this is gonna help.
