Actually I would take his advice in some manner. Over on the FIBR thread which Ive been a member of for quite a while, one person there had to publish a post outlining his comments one by one and then retracting each one of them one by one with an explanation. Basically he accused the company of lying, etc. Also, he had a gag order so he wasnt allowed further comment except for his retractions on the public forum. Now that was a far different case because FIBR was in a legal battle with Barron's magazine so they were sick of getting their name smudged left and right. Also, on that thread there IS critical comments all the time and no one giving them has been threatened with legal action. Im not sure why that one guy was singled out exactly because most of it occured before I was a reader.. I think he accused the company of either lying or was posting lies without basis? Im not saying anything like this would happen here.. all Im saying is it is not without successful precedant; and yes it is possible to do. The medium of the internet is new to the legal system but judging from that specific outcome it sounds like spreading false rumors about a company in a public forum is akin to shouting "FIRE!" in a crowded theater.. at least from the the success of that case. On the other hand Ive seen a lot of other threads where there were false rumors spread and no action was taken as well.. Anyways, my point being Rick was right about the possibility of legal action.. and no Im not saying it will or should happen in this case. Just commenting on what I saw on a different thread. Dexx; Perhaps you should consult some of the recent court cases and SEC actions regarding public statements via Internet and the actions that have been taken. One good example is GRNO and what the SEC did based primarily upon SI postings. I certainly issued no threat to Little Engine. It was as I stated: advice. The day is not far away (in my opinion) when we all will be held acountable for our statements in this forum. Anyone who is intelligent will pay attention to such things. I have no issue with you quesitoning my statements. I do take considerable issue with your personal attack on me. The attack shows that you in fact do not have the capability to think logically and rationally. I make this point because in your first and second paragraphs you mention the right to state any thought and in your last paragraph you tell me to leave the thread because you dislike what I said to someone other than yourself. A bit contradictory aren't you? Are you or your friends the only persons permitted free statements and anyone you disagree with to be ejected? Check history mister (presumming you have access to factual information). That is totalitariansim and in the case of public forums it is called prior restraint. Little Engine has at least attempted to support his position with facts and clear logic. I disagree with his tone but do not dispute his analysis. He has tried to contribute to this thread, as have I. Your contribution is what? Argue with me all you like on the facts. Disagree with me and show me where my facts, analysis or position is incorrect. If your argument is sound I will change my position. Do not, however, call me a weenie or give me instructions to leave this thread. Your behavior is immature. Your behavior is unwarranted. Your behavior is that of a child who is unable to express himself or herself in the manner of an adult and therefore must mask lack of intelligence with noise.
