Trump and Obama have more in common that most Trumpsters(or Obama worshipers) would want to admit.

Trump Orders Halt to Reports of Civilian Deaths in Drone Strikes Outside War Zones Administration says reporting to public 'distracts' spy agencies Jason Ditz Posted on March 6, 2019Categories NewsTags Trump The latest move to curb US government reporting to the public about civilians they’ve killed, President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday ending the requirement to report all civilian deaths in drone strikes that take place outside of war zones.

This was a policy put in place by President Obama in 2016, in the face of growing criticism of the large number of civilian deaths in drone strikes, particularly in Pakistan. The administration argues this is “superfluous reporting,” and distracts US spy agencies from their missions.

Drone killings outside of war zones are, of course, predominantly the domain of the CIA. Attempts to put more of US drone warfare under the Pentagon’s control has cut back the CIA’s involvement. Maintaining the reporting requirement, however, would force the CIA to keep the public appraised of its killings, at least somewhat, as well as of which areas are not actually war zones.

Such reports have been rare under Trump at any rate, and it has been common for the administration to keep specifics of operations from the public to avoid policy debates. Some in Congress are suggesting they should reintroduce the same reporting requirement, though the administration has recently been ignoring some of Congress’ requirements to report to them, so it’s not clear that would matter.

I supported the Progressives on two major counts: single payer universal healthcare or Medicare for all and free public state tuition for students whose families earn under 125K ( the NYS bill).
Now I support these two things because the average family cannot afford the cost of healthcare and college. Wages have not risen fast enough to compensate.
However, if the Dem platform supports a .1% tax on all trades on Wall Street, I will NOT vote for the Dem running for President. I am not going to pay over 5 figures a year to support their environmental plan. Plus, many of the Dems don't realize that the Market is the economy or foundation of Main Street. I may even vote for Trump, who I despise, just to show my displeasure with the .1% tax if it is in the platform.
Trump will win by the biggest landslide in history if that .1% tax becomes part of the Dem agenda. The progressives are underestimating the backlash they will receive if that tax is part of their platform.
Joe 6 pack will not like that tax in principle either.
Not a fan of Ocasio-Cortes.
I wonder where Tulsi Gabbard stands on that tax. I am a progressive who is pro business. Some will say that's a contradiction, but I think not.
A nice tax cut for the working class and lower middle income would be better for the economy anyway since Joe 6 Pack would spend all his money received from the tax cut whereas the super rich hoard most of their money received from the tax cut, if not all.
