"2050? Don't make me laugh. By then, we'll have discovered how to make fusion power work."
That's nice. How soon can we expect fusion-powered vehicles?

"I'm expecting real solutions, not fake ones"
California has real solutions, but we aren't gonna be able to change a system 150 years in the making in 10 years.

"Exporting the carbon isn't a real solution. "
China has to solve that. They are going green, but they could also decide to cut back on trade, altho I doubt they will. The same is true for India. China has a carbon-trading plan, so we'll be helping to pay for their transition when we buy their goods..

In the current debate, don't ignore the thorium-based nuclear reactor alternative, a solution with many advantages with some potential appeal even to the no-nuke society
