My MRVC holdings are miniscule these days, and I am not well versed the technology so I shouldn't be the one calling. But I would think that instead of speculating about the sales channel losses, someone might call the company to see what their version of recent events is.

maybe this is whistling in the wind but I think MRVC got tarred with the same "network co." brush that hit the others, even though their track record seems to go on unabated - until further word, at least.

Is there a Cisco product that is priced the same or slightly more with the same or slightly better feature set? If the answer is no on either end then NBase fills a need that Cisco isn't yet tapping and maybe MRV is still in their with the products that fill a niche. Inother words, nothing in that release that I saw says MRV is out and Cisco is in.

Of course Cisco may have told Fujitsu to throw them out as a condition of the deal but Fujitsu is big enough to say they won't do it.

Keep in mind that MRV may also have an OEM relationship with Fujitsu which could be totally untouched by the Cisco deal. Bottom line is we don't have enough information yet so we shouldn't sweat too much until we get it directly from Noam. IMHO
