Hi Dan,

That was all but my 5th ride on it.

I bought it at an estate sale for $21.00.

It looked horrible ,dirty, rusty screws , broken ropes.

I restored it, put in new stainless steel screws, new ropes and sanded the bottoms of the boards to raw wood.

Then hand rubbed tung oil 50% diluted with mineral spirits 25% diluted and then 10% diluted. I let it dry over night each time and then applied three coats of Turtle wax paste on it. Left it out at night to give it a good chill and it is now actually pretty , solid, and very fast.

I have about 100 bucks in it and more hours than I care to count.

It is an Adirondack Peters toboggan - very old and no longer in business ( mid 1960ish).

Bob
