After being a dick, Obama eventually commuted her sentence (should have been a pardon)...so that was something at least. I am sure though that she has lots of enemies in the government and military ranks still gunning for her. Imprisoning people for political reasons is not just something that happens outside the US. I would venture to say even that overly harsh sentencing of African Americans by comparison to caucasians is a form of "stealth" political imprisonment. In which case, the US may actually lead the world on politic prisoners while at the time beating the drum against it.
