I didn't say Norwegians didn't love their country. They just "whispered" some frank-talk about government to family (and family's trusted friend).

I have also seen much of Germany and England - and most Western European countries. You are right, there is much beauty there.

I can compare it to only the western United States (as far west as Colorado) because unfortunately, the U.S. is where my travel experience is lacking.

California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, etc. are magnificent - that much I can say for sure.

Europe is beautiful as is this country.

How come nobody ever calls it "flyover country"? I'll never forget the first times we were coming in to land at Prague, Munich, Paris, London, Budapest, Warsaw or other wonderful cities as the sun was rising and it all looked the same as here from 10,000 feet. (off soapbox) I guess I was brainwashed and really don't know what I expected. Wooden huts? Mud roads? Dead people from the Black Plague laying in the alleys?

Not only as beautiful, but in many case more advanced when it comes to cell phones and public transportation and the sincere friendliness of the people.

What really sticks out in Europe is the "loud and ugly American" and there are plenty of them and they make you cringe...and I'm 100% sure they are all self centered "me me me" very important liberals.
