True story, at the time I was working low level retail jobs right out of the Army just trying to figure it out so my G/F and I said let's go to Oregon, it's beautiful there so off we went cross country in my new truck. 3 days later we arrived in Eugene and I went out looking for a job in retail and every day I was rejected because I had too much experience or just a lack of jobs. The problem was the work force in my low level chosen field was all from south of the border. After a month we said that was a learning experience and went back to MA. I have an buddy who lives out there and he says he loves it except for the cost of living. It's a sacrifice you make to live where you want. The one good thing was visiting the Columbia River Gorge. I'm a history nut and enjoyed seeing where Lewis and Clark ended up.

Sadly, too many Californians love, love, love Oregon. We’re turning blue up here. No offense to you intended. :-)
