What do you mean? I thought that's what ORDBMS was all about? My comment was not intended to rebut the theory of ORDBMS, but rather the pratical application. If you read the background material on the subject you will find every DB vendor involved somehow. What I have seen working reasonably well in production is distributed systems that are integrated together. Thus, my original comment was made simply to challenge the notion that a single logical server process could be reasonably expected to manage traditional and multi-media data. If there is any further interest in the thread related to how this impacts investment decisions we could proceed further. syborg
