Good evening, Franklin Folk. I'm here to ask a favor, although I know this is a low time for posting. Anything you can do to make the regulars [including lurkers] aware of this message in the morning will be greatly appreciated. For the forthcoming Shareholder's Meeting on February 27th, I've been putting together some information on available rooms. We'll be posting this on the Website in more detail, but I need a tentative nosecount tomorrow morning, if possible. The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. in the afternoon at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, which is approximately half a mile down the street from Franklin headquarters. We are arranging some tours of our facilities earlier in the day and will have shuttle service available from the Hyatt to Franklin. The base rate for their rooms is $165 per night; they are offering Franklin Shareholders accomodations for $105. They have the usual amenities for a quality hotel, including in-room coffee makers, iron & ironing board, in-room movies, data ports, access to their health spa, video check-out & account review, etc. For fifteen dollars you may upgrade to their Business Plan, which adds a fax machine in each room, extended work area and desk, complimentary Continental breakfast buffet, printer access, etc. There's also an available upgrade to their Regency Club level, which throws in a concierge, lounge area with snacks, etc. In order to get the special rates, I'm going to need to "guarantee" a certain number of rooms--which is why I'm posting this now, prior to the more formal presentation. The Westlake Inn is perhaps 2-3 miles from here. It is a lovely facility, as well, with a view of the mountains. They are much smaller, but do have available a limited number of Business Suites which are $155 a night. They include Fax machines and data ports. I believe they also have fireplaces. There's a Radisson Hotel about 5-8 minutes down the freeway from us in Agoura Hills. They have single/double rooms available starting at $79 for AAA members. Otherwise, their preferred rates start at $85. Their Business grade rooms start at $105 and include data ports, but no Fax machines. (Business guests may use the hotel's fax machines for a usage fee.) There's also a Holiday Inn in Thousand Oaks, about ten minutes away. They haven't responded to our request for a special rate yet, but will probably be a bit less expensive. Again, the Hyatt has requested that I tell them tomorrow how many rooms to hold for meeting attendees. They typically fill early for weeknights, and most of you seem to be planning to arrive on Thursday. If you are planning to attend, please e-mail me (Voice mail takes longer!) with the number of people in your party and the number of nights you plan to stay. (As long as you're out here, why not enjoy some of the southern California sights over the week-end?) My e-mail address is hwest@ftel.net . I appreciate your help and am excited at the prospect of putting faces to the many people I'v come to "know" via the phone and e-mail. Thanks, Helen West
