If I knew before what I know now about this effort for regime change in Venezuela, I might have jumped onboard when you first mentioned it. It may be a long road but it seems likely that Venezuela is going to get "colonized" and exploited again. And if so, there will lots of $$s to be made at least until their people ultimately rebel against the "colonization" again. As a safer play, probably need to brainstorm the external companies that will move in and benefit the earliest and most. Like obviously who is likely to get the oil, but also many other things. Maybe that makes me a hypocrite as I don't mind profiting from suffering/exploitation that is out of my control?
