Thank you for the link. Think I've tried three nvme to pcie cards on some of the el cheapo off lease workstation refurb rebuilds I did for family and friends a few years ago. Forget the brand name but they cost around $17-22 then. It's a clever solution even if it doesn't max out performance. I've read tightly packaged native nvme runs hot and can burn out faster without proper thermals which often involve cheap DIY solutions. Would guess the heat eventually affects speed but just my guess, never really studied it and going by anecdotes and reading. Any thoughts on that?

Have never owned a desktop or laptop with native nvme but am committed to my next laptop and desktop having a native nvme slot. Which will be later this year or next or until the deal of the year or decade presents itself! ;-)

My 2tb ssd is an OS upgrade from hard drives.

I was delayed going ssd because I have a 2tb OS drive requirement.

Seems great.
