I guess a clever hijacker might carry a gas mask. The only solution is temporarily arm people getting on planes, preferably with a type of ammunition that can kill a human yet not puncture a plane. The guns could be handed out after people got their overhead luggage sorted out and before take-off. A swearing in ceremony deputizing the plane’s passengers would be played on a front screen with watchful air-stewards making sure people were paying attention. Sure there might be a few accidents, I’m guessing people coming back from a bad vacation with hangover, sunburn and upset tummy, we must however ask ourselves, what price public safety?
