My point was that Trump's support is far from waning. In fact it is much higher now than it was in the summer of 2017. In other words, the exodus that you alluded to is not happening. Now whether or not that base is enough to get him reelected has much to do with (1) whether or no we hit a recession (or other significant events) between now and the election, and (2) how many people will actually show up at the polls for each side. #1 is unpredictable, but #2 has a lot to do with if the Democratic candidate is the kind who can fire up the people. And that was the subject of my discussion.
