Once again you use a superlative I didn't say. Of course it doesn't make us all smarter, e.g. Republicans :)>. Most don't read much and when they do they read the wrong stuff like the bible and right wing clap trap. But it made enough of us smarter to end segregation, allow women to vote, address gender inequality and put an increasing number of women in our congress, and make racism a taboo, which is huge. Those who study are the smartest people the human species has ever seen and worldwide we have the most peaceful planet in history. This is ALL due to a dramatic increase in worldwide education. Peace is a direct result of education. << That doesn't sound like education is necessarily making us all smarter in the sense of picking our leaders or knowing how to survive.
