I agree completely. I wasn't refering to the V2100 in my post, but rather to the first generation 3D-Blaster I used to run VQuake on. That was incredible for Quake, but left something to be desired as a 2D card...

The point is that that design was launched - lets see - about 18 months or so ago, just before the VooDoo I if I remember correctly.
I belive 3Dfx made the right decision to leave 2D out of the chipset at that time.

However, times change and now hybrid chipsets are the way of the future as witness the V2100/V2200 and hopefully Banshee.
