Friggin St Johns beat MU twice.

They could go on a tear.

Or lose in the first round. A lot of that this year. Especially with the Big East teams I think.

I think that Arizona State will win the play-in game. ASU is bigger and faster than St. Johns, and likely has played better opposition, though won/loss records might indicate differently. Also, St John's is kinda/sorta playing badly right now, losing something like 5 of their last 6 games. ASU was in the process of defeating Oregon (red hot Oregon) when their star point guard went out with a groin injury in the PAC12 Tournament. Without Remy Martin (who returned in OT, albeit hobbled), ASU went on to lose to Oregon, a game they had under control until the injury.

That said, St. Johns could still win this game if Martin remains injured. ASU has a history of beating the teams where they should lose, and losing to teams where they are obviously superior. Coming off a really disappointing loss in the tournament, I expect the Sun Devils to rally big time and beat the Red Storm in what may be a very close, contested game. ASU beat St. John's in the 2017/2018 season with a few of the same players still playing for ASU, so there is a history to look at. And ASU is a much better team than they were just one season ago.

EK!!!
