ThrustMaster U.K. update.

pc GAMING World (U.K.) January 1998 edition
Feature: TOP GEAR

Review: ThrustMaster Formula 1 Racing Wheel 4 stars (of 5) 114.98 pounds

"...for the real fanatic there's little to beat Zye's $180 (pound) Digital Edge wheel unit, but for considerable less cash and boasting extra features the ThrustMaster is a better all-round proposition..."

several comments/issues/concerns: Is the Digital Edge wheel officially approved by the FIA? Digital Edge has recently/subsequently released a less expensive version (@ $79.99 pounds) and then there's TMSR web site. It should be noted that the UK/European market is much more in to bleeding-edge media (from h/w to s/w, music to web sites...) than is the U.S. TMSRs ignorance? or arrogance? over this issue (ref/TMSRs shamefully poor website and poorly worded NASCAR Pro/Formula 'product differentiation/perceived value' descriptions) will have/is already incurring? definite/considerable? lost opportunity costs/shareholder value?

Zye/Digital Edge's F1 Sim digitaledge.co.uk Digital Edge's F1 wheel was built as a F1 wheel from the ground up...the TMSR F1 wheel is "...the F1 wheel in Europe and the NASCAR Pro in the U.S.!?..." TMSR Formula 1 thrustmaster.com (per TMSRs Formula 1 ad in this UK pc GAMING World issue).

This issue is also filled with racing sim ads e.g. Test Drive 4, F1 Racing by ubisoft.co.uk and a 5 star (highest) review of TOCA Touring Car published by Codemasters...note: the British Touring Championship is 2nd only to Formula 1 in popularity/$ (per pc GAMING World U.K.)...the racing sim market in the UK/Europe is considerable as is soccer...which brings us to Gremlin's Actua Soccer 2, another 5-star review and a fierce competitor to EA Sports' (NASDAQ:ERTS) and Gravis GamePad alliance FIFA:Road to World Cup...this is another huge opportunity for TMSR with its Rage 3D (Gremlin and Sierra, Dynamix, Papyrus...).
