Lam's involvement with CMP is the production of tools used in
wafer cleaning after the CMP has taken place, they recently
agreed to cooperate with IPEC to design a module that works
with IPECs 676/776 products.

I too am no techie and am thus hesitant to say anything at all. But LRCX acquired Ontrak last August and are now in the CMP arena(Ontrak's business). What specific tools are offered by LRCX vs. SFAM or IPEC I could not say at the present. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable could comment.
