In addition, the company has named Dr. Eli Harari, CEO of SanDisk and a pioneer in non-volatile memory, to its board of directors. "Dr. Lucio Lanza has served as a member of our board of directors since 1996 and we have benefited tremendously from his guidance," stated Mark Templeton, president and CEO at Artisan Components. Prior to joining USVP, Dr. Lanza was an independent consultant to companies in the semiconductor, communications and computer-aided design industry including Cadence Design Systems where he was responsible for business development Previous to this, he was chief executive officer of EDA Systems, Inc., a design automation software company. Dr. Lanza also serves on the board of directors of Raster Graphics Inc. and several private companies including CAD.LAB Inc., PDF Solutions Inc., and Veridicom Inc. Dr. Lanza received a doctorate in electronic engineering from Politecnico of Milano. Dr. Harari is a founder and has been president and CEO at SanDisk Corp. since its inception in 1988. Prior to this, Dr. Harari founded and was president and CEO of Wafer Scale Integration from 1983 to 1986, and its president and chief technical officer from 1986 to 1988. Previously, Dr. Harari has held various management positions with Honeywell Inc., Intel Corp. and Hughes Aircraft Microelectronics. He received a Ph.D. in solid state sciences from Princeton University.
