A few extra percentage points on the upper brackets makes sense to me. In boom times we simply cannot be running $T deficits.


Extra tax revenue is always used to fund more spending/vote buying. If it was actually used for debt reduction, I would be willing to pay more.

We cannot have a balanced budget without major changes in SS and Medicare. I start on Medicare tomorrow, but would gladly continue to buy private insurance for 5 more years if it was part of a real entitlement reform.

3. Great wealth is not cash. Those with great wealth are wealthy due to the value of the companies they created. Confiscation of corporate ownership is insane. The lying loony left never mentions this fact.

This is actually the point that I was addressing as bedo's twit inferred confiscation of assets and not just taxation. The crux of my point was that those actions would cause a repricing of assets and much of that would be worth far less. They are not just talking about billionaires. Take a look at your portfolio and ask yourself what is it worth if the government can take it away on a whim?
