Ironically, the rising water level will swallow this supposed new land that will be ripe for colonization. Unless we grow gills and go back to an aquatic lifestyle in the next few decades, any thought of colonizing these new lands is pointless. Do read some of these global warming essays to learn about how rising temperatures are likely to affect humanity in the near future.

Melt baby Melt! Humans need more land to colonize.

Not only that but the economic opportunities are huge. That's all fresh water and some entrepreneur can bottle that water and make a couple of $$zillion by putting a cute millennial name to it and a dopey psychodelic design.
