The difference in power between our PM and your prez is interesting.. Our executive branch is really just a rubber stamp with no power of note except on some arcane procedural issues.. So yes your prez wins against our figurehead exec.. Mr Trudeau is not the executive branch.. But the leader of parliament.. Both Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Trump can declare war.. Perish the thought.. Mr. Trumo I understand is requred to notify Congress and is required to get any prolonged conflict sanctioned by congress.. Mr. Trudeau while having no such limitations would be foolish to do so without parlimentary assent.. (He does need to consult with his cabinet) which he leads.. Having a parlimentary majority means Mr. Trudeau makes the rules.. He can toss caucus members out of the party but not out of the legislature.. Also being orphaned from ones party and sitting independent is largely akin to being set adrift on an arctic ice floe .. Unless they cross the floor to sit with another party.. ... Less likely now as the ideological gap between the Liberals and Conservativesnservatives has drastically widened comparitively.. He could do this to Ms Raybould were he foolish.. But do to the nature of the affair.. She would be made a martyr and likely gain further widespread support.. She probably has designs on the PM job.. What Jay and I are referring to is the behind the scenes power brokers.. Jay is trendy and has taken a liking to the phrase Deep State :) In any case people tend to vote first for the guy at the top.. In your case prez .. In mine PM...
